This chair (from the 1920's) was found on the side of the road.  It is going to be fixed and reupholstered.  Keep checking for the new images of the transformation.

This is a picture of the chairs back.

The chair is now in the process of tear-down to prepare it for reupholstering.   This stuffing is animal hair.  The chair is a Vanity Chair from the early 20th centurey (1900-1930).

Another angle of the tearing down process.  The arms of the chair are made differently, because this would allow the chair to stay sitting in the same position (up to the vanity) and still allow the lady of the house to get in and out of the seat without moving the chair.  The picture to the right is the channeled back cushion from the chair.  It will be recovered and put back into the chair.

Notice the dark matter in the seat, this is some of the stuffing for the back of the original chair.  This helps date the chair to the time before the invention of foam rubber.

Another view of the tear-down process.  Watch for more to come in the reupholsering and restoring of this chair.
